Sesshin is a traditional Zen meditation intensive.
There will be seven full days of Zazen meditation and one dharma talk by Zenki Roshi each day. All participants will meet with Zenki Roshi for a practice interview (dokusan) with an option to meet a second time. All meals will be eaten oryoki style.
On arrival day, there will be a welcome dinner, an introduction to the weekend with Zazen instruction, and oryoki instruction will be provided for those who need it.
On departure day, there will be a brunch.
There are three options for participating in Sesshin.
- Residential: Stay on site at BZC in one of our guest rooms with one room-mate. Includes three oryoki meals per day.
- Stay at Home (for local practitioners when residential spots have filled up): Practice on site at BZC but sleep at home. Includes three oryoki meals per day.
- Online: Participate from home via Zoom. Guidelines for home Sesshin will be provided.
