Dharma Circle

See below for information on the 2019-2020 Dharma Circle, which is now complete. If you have questions or are interested in joining this group for its next iteration, please email Ejo Matt Zepelin (matthew.zepelin@gmail.com).

As part of the Dharma Weekends with Zenki Roshi, we have a Dharma Circle group meeting on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 pm. The group meets monthly from September till May, requiring a commitment for the entire period.  The focus for the 2019-2020 cycle of meetings will be the relationship between Zen teachings, the current ecological and climate crisis, and how common but less than complete mental postures people take toward these issues can be transformed in the direction of liberation, wisdom, and compassionate action.

To facilitate a deepening study group, participation in this group will require additional practice commitments, consisting of:

  • Membership in the Dharma Sangha
  • Planning to attend every session
  • One of the two options based on the menu listed below
    1.  Sesshin attendance (December or April) plus one other menu item
    2. Any three menu items
      • Weekend Sitting (Crestone)
      • Seminar (Crestone)
      • Seminar (Boulder-led by Zenki Sensei or Zentatsu Roshi)
      • 5-day Student stay in Crestone
      • Weekly Zazen attendance in Boulder incl. serving in a Zendo position
      • Wild Dharma practice (Crestone)
